Marlene's paintings display a wide range of color and mood through various modes of artistic expression. In some works, the juxtaposition of color captures motion in a display of inner excitement. In other works, soft and subtle colors combine in an outpouring of romantic expressionism. In all pieces, her goal is to give the viewer a pleasing mix of color, form and emotion. Her primary medium is acrylic on canvas, but she recently expanded to include soft pastels on paper. Marlene studied fine arts at San Diego State University and Mesa College. Her work has won numerous awards and is included in several corporate and private collections. Marlene lives in San Diego with her husband, Arnold. They enjoy spending time with their large blended family that includes several grandchildren.
